More than 90 Years of the Finest Baked Goods in the NH Seacoast Area

In 1932 Harvey Bernier opened Harvey’s Bakery in three locations on the Seacoast. It was an instant success in Dover, Rochester, and Portsmouth. Ray Guillemette worked for Harvey while in high school and was intrigued with the business of baking.

In 1954 Ray assumed ownership of Harvey’s Bakery in Dover after spending five years in a partnership with Harvey. The business continued to grow, providing the Dover community with wonderful baked goods.

In 1974 Ray recognized the need for a downtown coffee shop and opened Harvey’s Coffee Shop right next door to the bakery. Ray’s wife Jackie along with his three daughters, Pam, Susan and Karen joined the business during the 70’s.

In 1984 Ray’s son Brad joined the business as a master baker. The growth of the bakery proved to be so great that they moved to a production facility outside of the downtown area. The two have worked together for years to create the same high standard of baked goods the Seacoast community has loved.

Harvey’s Bakery and Coffee Shop takes pride in serving up their award winning recipes with great hospitality and comfort in their restaurant.

Through the years many things have remained the same: high quality workmanship, original recipes and delicious tasting food from Harvey’s!

The Guillemette Family provides the highest quality baked goods with prompt, courteous service and professionalism.
